It isn’t simply Harvey Weinstein
In the Times piece( read it HERE again, or if you haven’t yet ), Thurman alleges that Tarantino insisted she drive the car for a stunt in Kill Bill, despite Uma asking specifically for a stunt person to do so because she didn’t feeling safe.
The result was a car crash that left Uma with back and leg traumata that persevere to this day…and most recently has she been able to get footage of the accident itself to use in her arguments.
Now, other celebs are coming forward in Uma’s defense and calling out Tarantino.
You can check out those reactions( below ):
When cases of violence against ladies is used as a plot device to construct the characters stronger then we have a problem. It is not empowering to be beaten and raped, yet so many films make it their ‘pheonix’ moment for women. We don’t need abuse in order to be powerful. We already are.
— Jessica Chastain (@ jes_chastain) February 4, 2018Director inserting themselves into a scene depicting abuse is crossing a frontier. How can an actor feel safe when your director is strangling you?
— Jessica Chastain (@ jes_chastain) February 4, 2018I continue seeing Tarantino spitting in Uma’s face and strangling her with a chain for KILL BILL. How many images of women in media do we celebrate that showcase mistreat? When did this become normalized ‘entertainment’?
— Jessica Chastain (@ jes_chastain) February 4, 2018Uma Thurman has read the inside of our industry for 30 yrs. I have great respect for her. She is a warrior.https :// t.co/ xVQp0uzK 5Z pic.twitter.com/ 6l6LY0zbLh
— Jessica Chastain (@ jes_chastain) February 3, 2018Tarantino also ignored Daryl Hannah’s objections when she was harassed by Harvey Weinstein. They kicked her off the press tour.Nobody helped her. And now Tarantino is going to make a movie about Polanski. Why is someone financing this? This is why Weinstein wasn’t stopped. $$$$ https :// t.co/ WlSVFEoVN4
— Judd Apatow (@ JuddApatow) February 3, 2018Love you Uma. You have always been an inspiration to me. Thank you for your brutal integrity. Not just about Harvey but about health risks we sometimes take with our lives. | This Is Why Uma Thurman Is Angry – The New York Times https :// t.co/ 2MbKB05Xtz

— Asia Argento (@ AsiaArgento) February 3, 2018Weinstein and Tarantino, what a pair! A serial rapist and a near assassin. It’s no fucking joke what these abhorrent felons did to Uma Thurman, before and after #KillBill. They set her life, her dignity, her sanity in danger. Burn in inferno you sick fucks. pic.twitter.com/ VpD2oT 1ETZ
— Asia Argento (@ AsiaArgento) February 3, 2018WOW.
